Check your bank is on the supported banks list and SMS permission is on. Paste one message into the SMS parser to see if it's read. If not, report it from Settings → Unrecognized SMS or open a GitHub issue with the message (hide your account number).
Set Settings → SMS Scan Period to All Time, then long-press the sync button for a full rescan. PennyWise can only see SMS still on your phone.
Some banks send two messages for one payment. Most duplicates are skipped; delete any that slip through.
Balances come from the latest SMS that mentions one. Correct it in Manage Accounts.
Some phones (Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung) stop background apps. Set PennyWise's battery usage to Unrestricted, or tap sync when you open the app.
The download is about 1.5 GB, but it needs about 3 GB of free space while downloading, and a steady connection, so try Wi-Fi. Replies take a few seconds, longer on older phones.
Pairing connects the app once; it can only read your data while an AI session is on. Start one in Settings → Connect Claude / ChatGPT or with the PennyWise AI tile in Quick Settings, wait for the notification to say Connected, then ask again.
Update PennyWise first; new versions always read older backups. If it still fails, ask on Discord with the error.
