Use Claude, ChatGPT or the dashboard

Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your spending, or see it on a computer. Your data is stored only on your phone; each answer is sent to the app that asked.

  1. Open AI access

    Settings → Connect Claude / ChatGPT.

  2. Start an AI session

    Start an AI session

    Pick 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or tap the PennyWise AI tile in Quick Settings. AI apps can only read your data while a session is on.

    In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector with the URL shown. When it asks you to sign in, tap Get pairing code and enter the 6 digits.

    On a computer, open the dashboard address shown, click Connect to my phone and enter a pairing code.

Good to know

What they can read
Transactions, account balances and subscriptions. Never SMS text, full account numbers or notes.
Read-only
AI apps and the dashboard can't add, change or delete anything.
Connected apps
Further down the same screen. Disconnect any app there.
Where answers go
Questions and answers pass through PennyWise's relay, which never stores or logs them; it keeps only a random ID for your phone and the list of connected apps. The AI app's provider, for example Anthropic or OpenAI, sees the answers it receives.
Your own relay
For full control, run the open-source relay yourself and enter its address under Use your own relay.

AI access is a Pro feature. F-Droid builds include it for free.
